SOMALIA
Somalia, officially the Federal Republic of Somalia and formerly the Democratic Republic of Somalia under communist rule, is a country in East Africa in the geographical region called the Horn of Africa. As from the start of the Somali Civil War in 1991, there is no central government control in most parts of the state. The internationally recognized Federal Transitional Government governs only a small part of the country.Somalia is located at the easternmost end of Africa and it is surrounded by Djibouti to the northwest, Kenya to the southwest, the Gulf of Aden and Yemen to the north, the Indian Ocean to the east, and Ethiopia to the west. It has the longest coastline on the continent and its terrain consists mainly of plateaus, plains, and highlands. It has a yearlong dry climate with periodic monsoon winds and irregular rainfall.
Its estimated population for the year 2020 was 15.893.219.
Its official languages are Somali and Arabic.
